HERB RITTS - En Pleine Lumière
07.09.2016 - 30.10.2016
This exhibition at Maison Européenne de la Photographie de Paris (5/7 Rue de Fourcy - 75004 Paris ) is the first retrospective in Paris of the late American fashion photographer Herb Ritts.
Herb Ritts (1952–2002) was a leading American fashion photographer of the 1980s and 1990s, known for his beautifully printed, formally bold, and sensual black-and-white images of supermodels such as Stephanie Seymour, Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington, Tatjana Patitz and Naomi Campbell.
His glossy photographs with dreamlike style have immortalised and sometimes even defined Hollywood- and music celebrities like Madonna, Michael Jackson and Richard Gere. He has created advertising campaigns for fashion houses like Calvin Klein, Chanel, Donna Karan, Gianfranco Ferre, Versace, Giorgio Armani, Polo Ralph Lauren and Valentino.
